Arm Balances Aren’t Just for Posers : )
Arm balances include some of the flashiest, acrobatic looking poses – which makes them Instagram posing faves….
They can seem completely unapproachable or pretty tantalising – some people keep trying and trying to nail that Crow pose, however elusive, just because it’s a fun yoga challenge.
In this workshop we will break down some of the key movement skills in a range of arm balances, which will include Side Plank variations, Crow and Firefly pose. Whatever your aspirations (or not!), the building blocks to these poses include developing strong wrists, shoulders and core, combined with a variety of hip positions, all of which is hugely functional for everyday life and moving well, and fun to explore.
We will break these specific skills down into progressive, manageable steps within an enjoyable yoga flow. You are likely to find some good challenge for where you are currently at, and may even surprise yourself with coordinating some new moves. It’s amazing how you can start to access these challenging yoga poses are when you actually know how!
We’ll round off our practice with some balancing pranayama and restorative rest.
