Workshops & Retreats

Discover the powerful impact of longer, themed sessions where we have time for:

  • ‘workshopping’ poses and movements in depth

  • longer relaxation and meditation portions of practice

  • discussion and reflection in community on both the physical practice and on specific yoga teachings.

The style of the workshop is experiential learning: a cycle of trying out, reflecting and doing again, which gives you those lightbulb moments of understanding movement skills that you can take away and immediately apply for evermore!

Equal attention is given to doing the vital ‘downregulating’ practices of pranayama , restorative poses and meditation, which cumulatively cultivate a grounded and balanced state of being.

We benefit from the group sharing and reflection to embed this learning and have fun!

Take all this deeper enquiry back to your own home practice, group classes and into your life.

Yoga & Strength Training Workshop

Saturday 30th November 10:30am-1:00pm

Freedom Leisure, Downlands School, Dale Avenue, Hassocks BN6 8LP

  • Do you love your yoga but know you'd benefit from more strength building?

  • Interested in trying some weights but don't know where to start?

  • Maybe you'd just like to learn about some of the best weights exercises to complement your yoga and other physical activities.

  • If you already do some weights, come and enjoy a morning of movement and explore how yoga and weights can best complement each other.

If using weights is newer to you, and maybe the gym is just not something that appeals, I'd like to share with you how weights exercises can be fun, rewarding and really worth the effort ! Here is a chance to give it a go!

In this workshop, we will:

  • do a yoga practice that demonstrates how well particular yoga moves prepare you for good technique in using weights.

  • learn the key categories of weight training exercises -push, pull, hinge, squat and carry - and do some exercises - learning what amount of weight to use, and how to progress.
